  • Whistling while you drive

By Not a fan on Saturday, June 13, 2020

Purchased Limited at the end of March. Right away I noticed a whistling sound while driving on the freeway from front passenger door frame area. I thought maybe the AC vent was closed and didn't think much of it. Due to pandemic, I didn't go anywhere that required driving on the freeway to investigate more. Fast forward a few weeks later, I noticed the whistling sound again at 45mph and the faster I drove the louder it got. Took it to a local Toyota dealership and they did not know how to fix it. (It is not the weather strip) Took it to the dealership where I purchased the car, and they held onto the car for 5 days to try to fix the issue. There were partially able to fix the issue. Now the whistling starts at 70mph. Took it back and since they were not able to recreate the noise at 65mph or less, there is nothing they could do. I like the car don't get me wrong, but that whistling noise is a deal breaker. It is a very nice car and I enjoy the redesign and the amenities but buyer beware! The test drive I didn't go over 35 mph so I didn't hear the sound, but if you plan on getting this vehicle, listen for the whistling sound, because they do not have a fix fo this. Truly disappointed for a great car.

I have purchased 2020 highlander limited a month ago. I have waited almost 5 years to find the right one for me. This highlander limited has a mean aggressive look and LED head lights. Better looks than previous models. 2nd row has better leg room and very comfortable. Seats recline and nice. 1200 watts stereo is clear and awesome. Sounds better than my s class. Safety features already saved me from hitting backing up. I wanted to get 4runner but outdated and obsolete. Too bad.... I really like this one. So cal gets hot, this car has ventilated seats and heated seats. Believe me you ll like it. Only con is small fuel tank only goes 300miles. Old 4runner of mine traveled 360 miles.
  • 2020 highlander hybrid – a classical eco master

I received the 2020 Toyota Highland Hybrid several weeks ago. I wanted to write a review and share my experience with this car. -I only ran into 2 similar cars so far on the road. So it is very easy to find it in a parking lot – the Toyota blue logo unique for Hybrid Toyota only is just unique. -Starting the car doesn’t give much noise at all. Rather it sounds like a whispering symphony overture – another unique feature of this car – which I call it “Melody Start”. - It is the largest Hybrid available. Technology wise, it just makes sense – driving an 8-seat SUV but consuming less gasoline than my Honda Civic Sedan. - Driving for 500+ miles, it only takes one stop at the pump! I call this Liberation #1. - Be yourself. When I drive conventional cars, I was more like driven by cars around me. I tried to match their speed or tried to speed up to pass them, or constantly check my speed when I hit the 10miles above the speed limit. It was all about speed. I was driven by the car not the other way around. When I drive this large Hybrid SUV, it is a totally different experience. I am measured by my eco score which is very much based on steady speed. I can secretly “enjoy” the speed even if it is slower than cars wheezing by. I am driving and I am controlling my driving experience. It is like a fun game to speed up steadily, as if a fine ascending overture masterpiece. I call this “Melody + Rhythm”. -Liberating myself from the road competition is real fun. It is so less stressful when the focus is no longer other cars’ speed. -There are of course many commercial and economical perks offered by this master work in 2020, such as semi-autonomy driving mode that could make a 500-mile highway drive a piece of cake and stress free. Thanks to all the camera and sensors installed on this amazing vehicle. It is a Borg, not an autonomous robot. Enjoy your starry trek in 2020 Highlander Hybrid!
